Wardrobe Raid-11.28.2010

Last bit of Snow
Tunic: F21; Cami: WetSeal: $5; Tights: F21: $3.50;Boots: WetSeal: $35?;Headband: Francesca's Miami:Gifted.

I spent most of the day lounging around the bf's until I decided to venture out to feed my new addiction Starbucks Cappuccino's as well as get the hair ironed for my vacant head. ( I forgot to bring along my hair iron and needless to say bedhead will always be an understatement).. I also picked up an awsome duffle at Marshall's. I did hop out to snap some shots in the last bit of snow by the bf's.

Anything for a Shot

Tunic: WetSeal: $10 Clearance; Jeans:7's; Oxfords: F21:$24.80; Scarf: Boutique in Mystic,CT:$10.

As it says anything for a shot. I managed to jump the padlocked fence to get onto the deck by the pool to take these..I came very close to breaking a leg when I was trying to leave but the results were well worth it. I see myself taking loads of pics here when the pool opens back up. In the meanwhile I don't see myself hopping over again anytime soon.

Me TuTu
Tutu Skirt (worn backwards to hide belt): F21; Stripe Sweater: F21: $13.50; Tights: Target: $5; Blazer: Ny&Co: $35 (BlackFridaySale); Mary Janes: Wet Seal: $15(clearance); Snood: F21: $6.50

I noticed in a lot of magazines and blogs that the tutu is coming back in so here was my take on it, since I had one in my closet.. mine has and attached belt (that won't come off) and since its a big tacky gold thing I just flipped it around and no one was the wiser.. but I still new... so until I get brave enough to cut it off.. (who knows big tacky gold buckels might come back in to style) it'll just be our little secret.

Going Out on a Snowy Eve
Cords:Gap: Gifted; Sweater:F21: $13.50, Boots: Also: $150ish; Scarf: Gifted.
It was a cold and icy night the day after Christmas and I threw this on to go to Church and get out of the house, the rest of the day was spent in pj's all nice and snuggly on the couch watching Back to the Future.
These are my lovely new cords that my mom gave me for Christmas and I thought that I would sport them. Please forgive the hot mess of colors that I am sporting in this outfit it was all I had to work with... The sweater is my new fav since I love the relaxed fit and that its just a tad over sized since I bought a size larger than I wear..

Merry Christmas to Me!!!

Jeans:LEI; Cami: Abercrombie; Cowl Neck Sweater: Marshalls; Boots: Aldo: $150ish; Kermit Hoodie Gifted;Jacket: Borrowed fom mom to test out the new bike.

Christmas morning came and went but it left behind many things like my lovely new cruiser, a white coat that will have its debut soon enough. It was a wonderful day that was waaay calmer than the days leading up to it, and I got lots of goodies that I will have for many years to come. I experienced my first white Christmas. It snowed for the first time this year and I know for all of you Northerners that's no big deal but I am from Miami so my inner child always comes out when I see snow and I get all giddy and want to go play in it.. I am rather upset that I didn't remember that the BF had a boogie board that would've made an awsome sled to go down the hills around his house....(secretly hoping it snows again so I get the opportunity)... well heres to you.
On a side note I did manage to ride the new bike with non-forgiving boots, on flat tires and not manage to kill myself, especially since there are no breaks on the bike.. but kermit and I mananged just fine. My brother got me the basket I wanted to go on the front for hookah. The tassels will also come off, they were just for effect.

Only a few days before Christmas my wardrobe sense went out the door. i must have tried on 10 different outfits before heading to work and ended up with this one..  I just felt like tromping around the leaves in this atleast I know my jeans wouldn't be getting muddy. Hookah however might not have as much luck.

Cafe Du Michelle- Holiday Treats

Its that time of year were our waist lines expand a bit, we dust off our stretchy pants and place them on buffet setting.. Then a week later, we have holiday binge remorse and make it our resolution to get fit, healthy and honestly start going to the gym... i swear! Well,
I did not help a single person at any of the parties I attended because I brought some goodies that had every one swooning, while I was silently gloating on the inside.. Among the plethorah of foods I made, were: Cheese Truffles, Brie en Croute, Sweet Potato handpies (empanadas for all the latin folks), Stuffed Mushrooms, as appetizers and for desserts I made Chocolate Cheescake topped with Cream and Blueberries, Pumpkin Cheesecake,  & my good 'ol Apple Pie... I wish you all could have been there to help me bask in my inner hostess glory but since that would've been creepy I can atleast pass on my recipies and hope that you get to bask in your own..

Tut,Tut it Looks Like Rain

Jeans: F21; Sweater: F21: $13.50; Cord Blazer: Steve & Barry's: Gifted; Boots: Aldo: $150ish; Scarf: Boutique in Mystic, CT; Peacoat:AE: $50(Clearance)

Well as you can see I was able to wear jeans to work for the last 2 weeks of the year.
I thought to dress up the swearter with this cord blazer I've had for years and my plain 'ol brown scarf. It was chilly so the extra layers totally worked in my benefit. As I walk around in the empty field thats adjacent to my house, I can't help but look down and thing of how dead the grass is. I know that they seed up here in the "South" (north for me).. but honestly... its dead, throw some sod on top and lets be done with it...But alas no matter how many dirty paws I must clean, and how often I complain to the HOA... no luck and I live in a mud pit... oh well.. maybe next spring. In the meantime I'm going to enjoy wearing this outfit.

 Fall Favorites

Blazer: NY&Co.: $35(Black Friday Sale);  Grey Tee:F21: $6; Cami: F21: $3.50; Jeans:LEI; Scarf: F21: $6.50; Belt: F21: $2.50; Shoes: Steve Madden: $69.99

I just love this outfit. It was warm and comphy and I just loved wearing it. Plus it involved the Christmas present I bought myself. Ok Ok it was a total splurge but I had to have a pair of lace up tan suede wedges.. I know I know that sounds really odd, but I looked everywhere I could for a bargain pair and well these were definitely the best deal I found..I am still having the buyers non-remorse over not getting the $30 pair from F21 when I saw them because lets face it, if you find something you like but think you can wait until payday in 2 weeks chances are it won't be in stock when you go to buy.. which led to yup you guessed it....absolutely having to owna pair.. but in all my remorseness I have definitely gotten my moneys worth outta these bad boys.. as you will soon see.. I love them becuase they're comphy, I can dress them up or down & I can wear them all year round... currently I am sporting them with wool socks, and come summer they'll be paired with socks you can't see but manage to keep them from getting icky.. So Cheers to the shoe!!!!

Is there some splurge item you bought for yourself this Holiday season? Let me know...

Wardroobe Raid- 12.16.2010

Workin' around the clock

Sweater: F21: $13.50; Chambray Skirt: $19.50;  Blue Tights: Hue: $12;  Socks: Target:$1; Boots: Aldo:$150ish; Sweater: Mossimo for Target:$19.99; Belt: F21; Bracelet: local Boutique: Gifted
As you can see it was dark out when these were taken, and I had just walked through the door. Between work and late night shopping I've been non-stop, go go go. But I still manage to drag my lazy lil behind outta bed in the mornings & throw together something cute that helps me make it through the day. In the process I lost a button at work and didn't even notice. Shows how much I've been paying attention, I' lucky I walked out with the same 2 shoes. But hey I still managed to pull it off.

Hibachi .... Love

Cardigan:UO: Gifted;Jeans:LEI; Blouse: Bebe: gifted;Boots:F21:  ; Necklace: F21: $1.50.

I absolutely love hibatchi. I wore this to the local Japanese Steakhouse for a date night. It's the first time I've worn this top since my sister in law gave it to me, & it finally worked in an outfit. So I sported it for date night and I think it'll be making regular rounds in my daily wear.

Excuse Me, Professor?

Blouse:Target: $6.24 (Clearance); Cami: F21: $3.50; Carigan: AE: $15 (sale); Jeans:F21: $19.99; Oxfords: F21: $24.98; Belt: f21; Watch: Gifted; Necklace: F21: $1.50; Faux-Fur: Attention: $34.99
I wore this outfit to work a while back and thought it was bit Ivy league. I could just imagine wearing this in a dusty old library while I wander between the stacks... But alas, the only stacks I wandered through were the file cabinets in the office, and no where near as interesting as library books...

Wardrobe Raid-12.08.2010

Just Crew it
Faux Fur Coat: Attention: $34.99; Blouse: JCrew: $59.99 (on sale); Skirt: F21: $12.50; Belt: F21: $3.50; Cami F21: $3.50; Tights: Target: $5; Oxfords: Payless: $28.99; Earrings: Target
That's what I said when my sleuthing skills deserted me in looking for a familiar top at an in budget price... yup I went for it this blouse and some shoes you will see later on are a Christmas present to me....yes I know I am reaching to justify spending $60 on a shirt but I just had to have it. I absolutely love it.. I am even wearing it either for Christmas Eve (latin people celebrate the night before) or on Christmas day with some Tomato red cords that my mom bought me for Christmas ... It wouldn't be the first time I did a midmorning outfit swap on Christmas.. especially since I know that theyre there waiting to be unwrapped :) ohh... that idea hadn't occured to me until I started typing this post... I love it...
Have you ever reached into a pocket of something you haven't worn in a while and come out with money? Well, I am not lucky enough to find random cash in my pockets becuase knowing me cash has a very short shelflife.. but I do however happen across old jewelry.. I am notorious for taking off my earrings and putting them in my purse or pockets... and I came across these the other day in a hoodie I hadn't worn since I was in Connecticut for my cousins wedding (which is what the earrings were purchased for)... so It may not be as exciting as finding a random 20 but hey it made my day.

If you have any wonderful random pocket findings feel free to share I love hearing tales of things people leave in wasteland of old pockets.

They Call me Mellow Yellow

Yellow Cords: F21: $14.90; Tee: Express $15; Wrap Sweater: AE (Day after Christmas Clearance); Statement Necklace: F21; Clogs: Payless: $28.99

Sorry I had to go there but I look so mellow here I couldn't resist. This was the evening outfit for the day. I made dinner for my parents and the bf's mom at his place and wanted something slightly warmer and more comphy... I remixed some of my item choices from what I brought and this is what came out... not to bad but not my best... I will admit it was comphy and good for staying in with Family on a cold night..
